The brokerage:  City Life

Madrona

City Life Real Estate is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Madrona near downtown Seattle. We offer full real estate services and by operating as an independent brokerage we are not tied down to the big box brokerage way of thinking. Our designated broker and owner, Jon Hughes, has vast knowledge of the city neighborhoods, the residential and condominium markets, and he is very knowledgeable about real estate and contract law (after practicing law for a decade). Our small niche brokerage gives you the opportunity to work directly with our broker, something the big companies can't offer. Our agents are well-trained and provide full service to all clients. Personal relationships and community involvement are at the core of our business model. Portions of all commissions are donated to Seattle non-profit groups.

Our leader:  Jon Hughes

Jon Hughes

Jon spent a decade practicing law in Seattle with offices located in Madrona, Capitol Hill, and Madison Valley. As an experienced real estate investor, attorney, and advisor he decided in 2005 to make the leap to real estate. He worked as an agent with one of the big name companies, he was singled out for his success, but yearned to have more of a say in the overall real estate success for his clients and community. He has always been more inclined to be independent, having started his own law firm right out of law school. Thus, City Life Real Estate was formed, an independent brokerage focused on Seattle city living and all that is great about living in or near downtown Seattle. Jon's goal is to be the complete real estate advisor: from neighborhood knowledge, to real estate legal matters, to marketing strategies to maximize your results.

Community involvement is also at the core of Jon's beliefs; City Life Real Estate only attracts those agents interested in making a difference in their community. Over the years Jon's passions have involved children's activities and education in the Central Area of Seattle. He has served as Board President for the non-profit Community Day School Association, he has held leadership roles in Seattle Central Little League, Madrona K-8 School, Cherry Street Association, Madrona Community Council (Madrona.us), and varying roles in other non-profit groups. Jon recently was in Ethiopia with one of his favorite Seattle non-profit groups, Water 1st International (water1st.org) and in April 2008 he was the emcee for their annual Water 1st Beer 2nd fundraising event. His passion for diversity and opportunity for all, is also evidenced by his strong support of ArtsCorp (artscorp.org) a local non-profit that brings the arts into public schools with high numbers of low income students.
